What applies right now
Citeon is in private beta and is not open to the public. There are no accounts, no subscriptions and no payments: the only thing you can do on this site today is join the early-access list or send a message. Sections 4 and 5, covering subscriptions, billing and refunds, describe how the service will work once it opens and do not apply to anyone yet. Everything else, in particular acceptable use, intellectual property and the disclaimers, applies to your use of this website now.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding contract between you ("you", "Customer") and Citeon ("Citeon", "we", "us"). By using this website, joining the early-access list, or later creating an account, you confirm you have read, understood and agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Refund Policy and our Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the site. While Citeon is in private beta, no accounts or subscriptions exist, so the sections dealing with those describe the service as it will operate once it opens.
You must be at least 18 years old, capable of entering into a binding contract, and authorised to act on behalf of any company or brand you connect. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for all activity under your account. Keep your credentials confidential.
Citeon helps you monitor how third-party generative AI systems reference brands and content. Outputs are estimates derived from probabilistic systems we do not control. The service is provided on an evolving basis: features may be added, modified, throttled or removed without notice.
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor Paddle, which acts as Merchant of Record. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice for the next renewal. You are responsible for all applicable taxes unless we are required by law to collect them. Failed payments may result in suspension or termination.
You may cancel at any time from your billing settings; access continues until the end of the current billing period. New subscribers are eligible for a full refund within 14 days of their first payment, as set out in our Refund Policy.
You agree not to (a) violate any law or third-party right, (b) infringe intellectual property, (c) attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape, overload or circumvent the service, (d) resell or sublicense the service except as expressly permitted, (e) use the service to generate spam, malware, deceptive content, hate speech, content that sexually exploits minors, or content designed to manipulate AI systems in bad faith, or (f) submit personal data of others without lawful basis. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section without refund.
You retain ownership of content you submit ("Customer Content"). You grant Citeon a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process and transmit Customer Content solely to operate, secure and improve the service. You represent and warrant you have all rights necessary to grant this licence and that your Customer Content does not infringe any third-party right.
The service, including all software, text, graphics, logos and underlying technology, is owned by Citeon and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. No rights are granted to you other than the limited right to use the service in accordance with these Terms.
The service relies on third-party AI systems (including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity and DeepSeek). We do not control their outputs, availability, accuracy or pricing. Your use of the service is also subject to applicable provider terms where outputs are returned to you.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Citeon disclaims all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, reliability of AI outputs, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. You are solely responsible for any decision made based on insights produced by the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Citeon, its affiliates, officers, employees or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, business opportunities or anticipated savings, even if advised of the possibility. Citeon's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you actually paid to Citeon in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Citeon and its affiliates from and against any claim, loss, damage, liability, cost and expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) your use of the service, (b) your Customer Content, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any law or third-party right.
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, created legal risk for us, or failed to pay. On termination, your right to use the service ceases and your data may be deleted after a reasonable retention period.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-product notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any competent court. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable consumer rights you may have under your local law.
If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between the parties regarding the service.
